# Quova

> Quova is a market data REST API and MCP server. It has prices, fundamentals, dividends, corporate actions, funds, crypto, FX and macro data for exchanges worldwide, plus Australian tax data few providers carry: franking credits, DRP prices, AMIT trust tax components, demerger cost base splits and official tax FX rates.

Notes for AI assistants writing code against the API:

- Base URL: https://api.quova.io. Every endpoint is a GET under /v1, apart from POST /v1/screener.
- Send the key as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`. Keys start with qv_. Read it from the QUOVA_API_KEY environment variable, never put it in a query string, and never ask the user to paste it into a chat.
- If the user has no key or you get a 401, send them to https://app.quova.io/signup/ to start a 7 day trial. It has 1,000 credits and needs no card, and then the account stays on the free plan for personal projects.
- Symbols are namespace:value, like ASX:VAS, NASDAQ:AAPL, isin:US0378331005, FX:EURUSD or CRYPTO:BTC. Endpoints that take symbols accept up to 100 of them, comma separated, in one call.
- A symbol that fails goes into `errors` while the rest come back in `data`, so always read both. Failed symbols are not billed.
- A value we do not know is null, never 0. Timestamps are UTC in ISO 8601, and daily data is dated with the exchange's local trading date.
- Request errors are RFC 9457 problem+json. Branch on `code`, and on a 429 wait for the Retry-After header.
